Actress Somy Ali took to Instagram to share a video of her different avatars in Bollywood, along with one of her favourite songs Main Na Bhoolungi from the film Roti Kapda Aur Makaan.
“I absolutely love this movie and all the songs in it. I saw it as a child, but when I had an opportunity to meet with Manoj uncle and spend hours talking with him about Lahore and his movies, I will never forget that time I got to spend with one of the greatest filmmakers of Hindi Cinema,” Somy wrote.
She praised his unique style, adding, “All of his movies primarily were patriotic and then his cinematography style was like no other film maker. I encourage all actors and filmmakers to watch his films and you will be taken aback by every camera angle of his in that era that was so ahead of our time. He was extraordinarily talented and had a knack for scripts with messages and unconventional methods of shots.”
Somy urged her followers to watch the song on YouTube, saying, “Watch this song on YouTube and you will see what I mean. He was the nicest man I encountered along with Dharamji in the industry. May his soul rest in peace. Miss him and his film making tremendously.”
