1. In Ladakh, as part of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations, a solemn and emotionally resonant event was held yesterday at Lamochan View Point in Drass. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Flag Foundation of India in the presence of Major General Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding, 14 Corps, who served as the Chief Guest.
2. The Shaurya Bharat Car Rally was flagged off by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, from Air Force Station in New Delhi. The aim of this car rally is to commemorate the success of “Operation Sindoor” and honour the valour of our Armed Forces.
3. THE INDIAN NAVY’S EASTERN FLEET SHIPS ARRIVE AT DA NANG, VIETNAM – As part of Indian Navy’s ongoing Operational Deployment to South East Asia, Indian Naval Ships Delhi, Shakti, and Kiltan of the Eastern Fleet, under the Command of RAdm Susheel Menon, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), arrived at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang, Vietnam on 24 July 2025. The ships were accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN), and People’s Committee of Vietnam reflecting the warmth and growing India-Vietnam bilateral relationship.
4. Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of Air Defence Fire Control Radars for the Indian Army, worth approx. Rs 2,000 crore, under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured) category.
5. A drone-launched precision guided missile has been successfully test-fired by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at a test range in Andhra Pradesh.
The 12.5-kg fire-and-forget air-to-surface missile is powered by a compact dual-thrust solid propulsion unit, enabling it to reach a maximum range of 4 km during daytime operations and 2.5 km at night. It also incorporates a two-way datalink for communication and offers multiple warhead options to engage a variety of static and moving targets.
