1. Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah unveiled the National Cooperative Policy 2025 in New Delhi.

2. The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has started preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for expanding India’s bullet train network beyond Mumbai-Ahmedabad.

3. Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin underwent a therapeutic procedure at Apollo Hospitals on Thursday following complaints of giddiness, according to an official statement from the hospital. The hospital confirmed that chief minister Stalin is in good health and is expected to resume his normal routine within two days.

4. Stalemate continues in Parliament on fourth consecutive day, as Opposition demands discussion on Bihar voter list revision and other issues.

5. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday demanded former Union Minister and ex-Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, an OBC leader from Telangana, be made the Vice President of India.

*Mr Dattatreya was the Haryana governor during 2019-2021. He was made the governor of Himachal Pradesh in July 2021 and vacated that post on 21 July 2025.

6. India’s National Medical Commission (NMC), the country’s apex medical education regulator, has proposed to overhaul rules and introduce a fee to recognize medical courses offered by universities abroad. Under its new draft rules, foreign universities or accreditation agencies will need to pay the NMC a fee of $10,000 ( ₹8.6 lakh) for each application seeking recognition by India of a medical course conducted by them.

7. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that no genuine voter will be deprived of voting rights in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the State.

8. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday proposed to brand the Telangana caste census and the broader initiative of social justice as the “RaRe” model — believed to be an acronym for ‘Rahul-Revanth Model’ — in case of objections from anyone to using the term “Telangana model.”

9. PM Modi becomes the second longest consecutively serving Prime Minister in India’s history

As of July 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially surpassed Manmohan Singh’s consecutive tenure, making him the second-longest continuously serving Prime Minister in India’s history — after Jawaharlal Nehru.

Total continuous service (as of July 2025): Over 11 years.

10. The Met Department has issued a red alert over Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and parts of Maharashtra due to extremely heavy rainfall. Heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand till the 28th of this month.

1. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today conducted raids at 35 locations in connection with a loan fraud and money laundering investigation against the Reliance Anil Ambani Group Companies (RAAGA). The investigation covers 50 Companies and over 25 people.

2. The Supreme Court issued notice in the criminal appeals filed by the State of Maharashtra challenging the Bombay High Court’s judgment, which acquitted all 12 accused in the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts case of 2006.

3. Delhi high court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to NewsClick’s founder and editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayastha in two cases, including one lodged by the Delhi Police concerning foreign funding, taking note of the “prolonged investigations” by probe agencies.

In Himachal Pradesh, 8 people were killed and 21 injured after a state transport bus fell into a gorge near Tarangla in Mandi district. A total of 29 passengers were on board the bus, which was en route from Sarkaghat to Durgapur.

1. Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 trailer will release on July 25, 2025. The makers made a big announcement on social media.

The trailer for “War 2,” featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, is scheduled to be released on July 25th, according to the Times of India. The movie is part of the YRF Spy Universe and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on August 14th.

2. The Supreme Court on Monday (July 21, 2025) granted protection from arrest to actor Shreyas Talpade in a case of cheating and breach of trust against a society.

3. The Telangana State government has announced cash award of ₹1 crore for singer Rahul Sipligunj on the occasion of Bonalu festival in line with the promise made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Mr. Sipligunj, hailing from the Old City of Hyderabad, achieved international recognition, including an Oscar nod, for the Naatu Naatu song in the 2022 film RRR.

1. From October 2025, the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) fighter squadron strength will reduce to 29 squadrons, nearing parity with Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) 25 squadrons, which is a cause for concern given China’s much larger fleet of 66 squadrons.

2. Krishna Defence And Allied Industries Ltd (KDAIL) has initiated the construction of India’s largest and most advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), named the Jalkapi Extra-Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (XLUUV), marking a significant milestone in India’s indigenous defence technology.

The ceremonial plate-cutting event took place on 10 June 2025, at KDAIL’s manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat.

3. Major General (Res) Amir Baram, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defence, met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi in New Delhi to discuss geostrategic developments in the region and ways to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between India and Israel.

4. Nyoma, third air force base in ladakh to be operational by October to bolster India-China Air Power Balance.

The successful launch of ‘Samudra Prachet,’ the second indigenous Pollution Control Vessel (PCV) constructed by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), marks a significant milestone in India’s quest for maritime environmental preparedness and self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The vessel was officially launched on July 23, 2025, at GSL’s shipyard in Goa.

6. The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC in Chief), Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, reviewed the security and ongoing counter-terrorist operations in the Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts of the Jammu region. The Army Commander visited the Delta Force headquarters in Batote and received an update on ‘Operation Shiva’ being conducted in the region.
