1. India and UK sign landmark Free Trade Agreement aimed at reducing tariffs and creating thousands of new jobs; Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls it a blueprint for shared prosperity; UK Prime Minister says, deal will bring huge benefits to both countries.

2. India-Maldives relations have undergone a significant turnaround, marked most notably by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Maldives as the first foreign leader hosted by Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu since his rise to power nearly two years ago.This visit, during which Modi will be the guest of honour at the 60th Independence Day celebrations on June 26.

3. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan recently reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness for a meaningful dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues, emphasizing diplomacy as the preferred path to ease long-standing regional tensions.

4. PM Modi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are set to sign a landmark India-UK trade deal in the UK, which is forecast to boost bilateral trade by £25.5 billion annually.

5. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) have successfully completed a critical welding process on the personnel sphere of the deep-sea submersible Matsya-6000 for the Samudrayaan mission, marking a major milestone in India’s Deep Ocean Mission.

6. A team of two Indian specialists and a nursing assistant landed in Dhaka yesterday evening to help with the treatment of the victims of the plane crash tragedy of 21 July in Bangladesh. External Affairs Ministry said the specialists are from two of India’s topmost burn injury treatment hospitals – Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.

7. China has described its recent diplomatic discussions with India regarding the border situation as “candid.” The talks took place in New Delhi under the framework of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on border affairs.

During these meetings, both countries engaged in in-depth communication focused on implementing the outcomes of the 23rd Special Representatives (SRs) meeting on the China-India boundary question.

1. On July 24, 2025, a twin turboprop Antonov An-24 passenger aircraft carrying a total of 47 individuals, including five children, went missing during a domestic flight over Russia’s Far Eastern Amur Region. The flight had originated from Blagoveshchensk and was bound for Tynda, covering a distance of approximately 570 kilometres.

2. At least 12 people have been killed and several others injured after clashes erupted between Thailand and Cambodia in a dramatic escalation of the long-running border row between the two neighbours.

3. Iran has agreed to receive a technical team of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which will visit Iran in two to three weeks.

4. Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country, has instructed women officials and staff to wear sarees, salwar-kameez with scarves, or other formal and modest attire.

The new guidelines, issued on Monday by the Bangladesh Bank, prohibit short-sleeved and short-length dresses, as well as leggings for women.
