pm modi holds bilateral talks with bangladesh pm sheikh hasina

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. PM Modi & Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina held bilateral talks in New Delhi on 06 Sep to review and further strengthen the all-encompassing India-Bangladesh partnership. The India-Bangladesh delegation level talks were led by both leaders. Issues related to connectivity, energy, water resources, trade and investment, border management and security.

👉 PM Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina inaugurate 1320 MW Maitree Power Plant; Two countries ink 7 MoUs

👉 The MoU to finalise an interim bilateral agreement on water sharing of the Kushiyara river was signed

👉 An MoU was signed between the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India and Bangladesh Council of Scientific Industrial Research (BCSIR) on scientific cooperation

2. Pandemic & current international situation demands India- Bangladesh to remain more economically connected to deal with global crisis: President Droupadi Murmu said.

3. The two day long Quad Senior Officials Meeting concluded in New Delhi on 06 Sep.

👉 Senior Officials from the Foreign Ministries of Australia, India, Japan and USA discussed regional and global developments, reaffirming their vision for a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. They also reviewed ongoing cooperation and progress of initiatives announced under the Quad Framework.

4. India supports all efforts towards repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said.

1. The U.S. Air Force plans to conduct a test launch of an unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile early Wednesday morning, the Pentagon announced.

2. UK’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was appointed as the next Prime Minister of Britain by Queen Elizabeth II at the Balmoral estate in Scotland.

3. Ireland’s Data Protection Commission has fined image-sharing social media platform Instagram a record 402 million dollars for breaching regulations on the handling of children’s data.

4. Thousands protested across Indonesian cities on Tuesday, demanding the government roll back the increase in fuel prices.

5. German government is planning to drop the mandatory mask rule on flights to and from the country. The present rules mandate masks to be worn on flights till September 23

6. Pilots of German airlines Lufthansa have called off their second strike scheduled for this week after reaching a deal in their wage dispute with the company.

7. The German military resumed its reconnaissance operations in Mali on Tuesday, three weeks after operations were suspended due to a spat with Mali’s government over flight clearances. Around 1,000 German troops are stationed in Mali, primarily to conduct reconnaissance for UN peacekeeping mission MINUSMA.
