1. Three terrorists have been killed in a gunfight with security forces in Shukroo Keller forest area of Shopian district in Jammu & Kashmir.

Ernakulam Harbour police on Monday arrested a Kozhikode native for allegedly making a phone call to the Naval Base, posing as an official with the Prime Minister’s office and seeking sensitive information about the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. The accused person was identified as Mujeeb Rahman, a resident of Elathoor, Kozhikode.

1. India’s retail inflation eased to 3.16 percent in April from 3.34 percent in March, driven by significant easing in food prices. According to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, it is the lowest year-on-year inflation after July, 2019.

2. Indian defence stocks surged up to nine per cent in trade session after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push for ‘Made in India’ defence equipments.

The share price of Bharat Dynamics surged the highest among the defence stocks, jumping 9.4 per cent to 1,718 rupees on the National Stock Exchange. Hindustan Aeronautics share price gained 4.6 per cent to trade at an intra-day high of 4,645 rupees.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the security situation along the Western Border of India during a high-level meeting in New Delhi. The meeting was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Narmadeshwar Tiwari. 3. What Is Operation Keller in Kashmir?
In the early hours of May 13, 2025, the Indian Army launched a high-intensity counter-terror operation in the dense forests of Keller in Shopian, South Kashmir. Named Operation Keller, the mission was initiated following credible intelligence reports about heavily armed militants hiding in the region.

This operation reflects India’s continued commitment to neutralising terrorist threats within the Valley and ensuring the safety of its citizens.

4. Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, has introduced a policy offering complete property tax exemption for residences of active defence personnel situated in village areas of the state. The benefit, earlier limited to specific categories.
