1. The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the second edition of Vividhta Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 5, 2025. This festival highlights the rich cultural heritage of India by showcasing different regions in separate editions.

2. Delhi Metro completed a tunnel breakthrough for its Golden Metro Line at Vasant Kunj. The 26-kilometer metro line will run under the Aerocity-Tughlakabad Corridor and is being built by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation as part of its Phase 4 expansion.

3. Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai interacted with around 200 tribal youth under the Tribal Youth Exchange Programme in New Delhi. These youth, belonging to tribal districts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

The Arunachal Pradesh Arun Parivar Patra Authority Bill, 2025, aimed at creating this database, was introduced on the first day of the state budget session in the legislative assembly.

9. President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate a national conference in New Delhi on International Women’s Day on the 8th of this month. The Conference is being organised on the theme of “Nari Shakti Se Viksit Bharat” by the Women and Child Development Ministry.

10. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has introduced an addendum to the existing ethical guidelines for biomedical research. This initiative focuses on Research in Integrative Medicine (RIM) and aims to provide a robust ethical framework.

11. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the construction of ropeways from Sonprayag to Kedarnath and from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib Ji. These projects aim to provide efficient, eco-friendly transportation for thousands of pilgrims each year.

12. The Union Cabinet has recently approved revision of the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP). This initiative has an outlay of ₹3,880 crore for the years 2024-25 and 2025-26.

14. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana for blessing the BJP with a thumping victory in the election to the state’s legislative council. BJP-backed candidates have won two of the three MLC seats in Telangana.

1. An active terrorist of Babbar Khalsa International and an ISI module, identified as Lajar Masih, has been nabbed by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police in a joint operation.

2. Mumbai terror attacks accused Tahawwur Rana has approached the US Supreme Court seeking an emergency stay of his extradition to India.

Tahawwur Rana, 63, is currently lodged in a jail in Los Angeles. He is known to be associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist David Headley, one of the main conspirators of the Mumbai attacks in which 166 were killed.

3. Two Indian nationals were executed in UAE in separate murder cases after they were convicted, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday.

The nationals sentenced to death have been identified as Muhammed Rinash Arangilottu and Muraleedharan Perumthatta Valappil. Both are residents of Kerala.

1. Reserve Bank of India’s Governor Sanjay Malhotra held an interaction with non-bank Payment System Operators and FinTechs along with their associations and SROs.

2. Recently, Punjab emerged as a leader in implementing the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme. The state utilised its entire allocation of ₹4,713 crore, securing an additional ₹2,337 crore from the Centre.

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund is a government initiative launched in July 2020.
Its primary goal is to provide medium to long-term financing for agricultural infrastructure projects, especially at the post-harvest stage.

The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) requirement for additional multi-role fighter aircraft has been accepted by a Defence Ministry Committee.

the IAF plans to acquire aircraft with 4.5-plus generation capabilities, potentially including the French Rafale and Swedish Gripen, alongside fifth-generation fighters like the US F-35 and Russian Su-57.

2. The Indian Defence Ministry is planning to expand competitive bidding for weapons procurement to create a more level playing field for private firms. Currently, the majority of defence production contracts are secured by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), often without a tendering process.
