cabinet approves release of an additional instalment of da dr to central govt employees pensioners

1. Govt approves release of additional installment of 3% of DA to Central Govt employees, DR to pensioner from 1 January 2022.

2. Rajya Sabha has passed the Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2022 on 30 Mar.

3. The Bill seeks to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 to omit Bhogta community from the list of Scheduled Castes in Jharkhand and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950 for inclusion of certain communities in the lists of Scheduled Tribes in the State.

4. Ayush Ministry has invited nominations for Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards 2022. The winners will be announced on the International Day of Yoga on 21st June this year. The application process of awards is being hosted on the MyGov platform.

5. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu will host a farewell dinner for 72 MPs at his official residence on Thursday. Several Rajya Sabha members are expected to showcase their cultural talents on the occasion. BJP MP Roopa Ganguly will sing a Hindi song, TMC’s Santanu Sen will play the guitar and Dola Sen will present Rabindra Sangeet.

6. In *ANDHRA PRADESH* new districts will be launched formally at the auspicious time between 9.05 am and 9.45 am on April 4, instead of the previously decided April 2, the Telugu New Year Ugadi day.,

10. *PUNJAB* CM Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday prohibited private schools from hiking their fee and specifying particular shops for the purchase of uniforms and textbooks in the coming academic session.

11. *TELANGANA* CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday wrote to PM Modi and urged him to increase seats in the country’s medical colleges to accommodate medical students who returned to India from war-torn Ukraine, .

12. *UTTAR PRADESH* govt has ordered special task force STF to probe the alleged leak of English paper of UP board examination in Ballia district on 30 Mar. Government has suspended the Zila Vidyalaya nirikshak of Ballia district.

FINANCE:

13. Lok Sabha passed the Chartered Accountants, the Cost and Works Accountants and the Company Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2021.

14. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asserted that there is no proposal or intention to infringe upon the autonomy of these three institutions, ICAI, ICWA and ICSI.

15. Home Ministry’s High Level Committee approves additional Central assistance of over Rs 1,887 cr to 5 States.

16. The states which will get the central assistance from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) are Bihar (Rs 1,038.96 crore), West Bengal (Rs 475.04 crore), Rajasthan (292.51 crore), Sikkim (Rs 59.35 crore) and Himachal Pradesh (Rs 21.37 crore), said an official statement.

17. During the financial year 2021-22, the central government has released Rs 17,747.20 crore to 28 states in their SDRF and Rs 6,197.98 crore to nine states from the NDRF.

DEFENCE:

19. Cabinet Committee on Security, CCS has approved procurement of 15 Light Combat Helicopter Limited Series Production at the cost of 3,887 crore rupees.

The defence ministry said 10 helicopters will be for the Indian Air Force and five will be for the Indian Army.
