Bhubaneswar, 16th February 2025: Reigning champion the Netherlands Women’s Hockey Team landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Sunday ahead of their FIH Hockey Pro League 2024/25 matches in India.
Currently second on the points table with nine points from four games, the Dutch side will face England in their opening match of the India leg at the iconic Kalinga Hockey Stadium on 21st February.
Upon the team’s arrival, the Netherlands Captain Pien Sanders said, “We’re thrilled to be here, as the atmosphere is always fantastic, and we’re really looking forward to the matches ahead. Our goal is to defend the title, and for the four games here in India, we’re aiming to secure all 12 points. Looking ahead, I believe India will be our toughest challenge, especially with the home crowd fully backing them.”
