In her message, President Smt Droupadi Murmu emphasised imbibing Jesus Christ’s message of love and harmony in the lives of people.
The festival of Christmas commemorates the of Jesus Christ. Christmas is celebrated on 25th December every year. This is an approximate date of birth of Christ, though there is no historical data to corroborate it. It is observed as a public holiday in many countries including India.
2. President Droupadi Murmu has appointed governors in five states.
The Governor of Mizoram Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati will now be the new Governor of Odisha. The development came following the resignation of the present Odisha Governor Raghubar Das. Former Union Minister General Vijay Kumar Singh has been appointed as Governor of Mizoram.
Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who is serving Governor of Bihar has been appointed as the Governor of Kerala. He will succeed Arif Mohammed Khan who will be the Governor of Bihar. Former Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been appointed as Governor of Manipur.

PierSight Launches Varuna Satellite: Indian spacetech start-up PierSight is set to launch its first maritime surveillance satellite, Varuna, which utilizes advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology. This satellite will provide 24/7 all-weather surveillance capabilities, allowing it to monitor maritime activities regardless of weather conditions or time of day. The launch is scheduled for 30 December 2024, aboard ISRO’s PSLV-C60 mission as a secondary payload on the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM) platform.
5. The National Highways Authority of India, NHAI, has taken on a pilot project to provide cattle shelters along the national highways to enhance road safety and avoid animal-related accidents.
6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised that Viksit Bharat can be achieved through a fundamental change in mindset that is focused on making India develop by 2047. Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will dedicate more than ten thousand newly established multipurpose primary agricultural cooperative societies, dairy, and fisheries cooperatives to the nation in New Delhi. 9. The first meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on two bills related to the One Nation One Election will be held on the 8th of next month. The 39-member committee has 27 members from the Lok Sabha and 12 members from the Rajya Sabha.
