1. The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has granted technical assistance to the Haryana Airports Development Corporation Limited (HADC) for the redevelopment of Hisar Airport into an integrated aviation hub.

2. The 21st session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military & Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) was co-chaired by Rajnath Singh and Russian Defence Minister Mr Andrey Belousov in Moscow on 10 December 2024.

3. India and Nicaragua have recently signed an umbrella agreement to implement Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) aimed at enhancing socio-economic development in Nicaragua. This memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on 10 December 2024, in Managua by Indian Ambassador to Panama.

4. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its defence ties with Russia during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. This meeting took place on 10 December 2024, amid ongoing geopolitical challenges that have put pressure on India to reassess its international alliances.

5. Members of an Indian delegation recently met with Pope Francis at the Vatican, where they presented two books titled Modi@20, which highlight Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and vision. The delegation was led by Union Minister George Kurian.

6. India has officially opposed a proposal led by China regarding the Investment Facilitation for Development (IFD) at the World Trade Organization (WTO). This proposal, which is supported by around 130 countries, aims to create binding agreements on investment facilitation among signatory nations.

1. Former South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun attempted suicide while in custody oon 11 December 2024. This incident occurred shortly after his arrest related to allegations of involvement in a controversial martial law declaration by President Yoon Suk Yeol.

2. The Syrian conflict has marked a new phase with the appointment of Mohammed al-Bashir as the caretaker prime minister of Syria. Al-Bashir, previously the head of the Syrian Salvation Government (SSG) in Idlib province.
