1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has emphasized the need to strengthen the justice delivery system to ensure a just and fair society. The President was speaking after releasing three publications brought out by the Supreme Court of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

5. Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions , Dr. Jitendra Singh, will launch the Nation-wide Digital Life Certificate campaign 3.0 in New Delhi today. The campaign, conducted nationwide by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare across 800 cities and districts, will continue till the 30th of this month.

6. NITI Aayog will be launching 15 day ‘Jal Utsav’ starting today to create awareness and sensitivity towards water management, conservation and sustainability. The campaign follows the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who mooted the idea of ‘Jal Utsav’ on the lines of ‘Nadi Utsav’ during the 3rd Chief Secretaries Conference held in December last year.

7. In Jharkhand, voting for the first phase of assembly polls will be held on the 13th of this month. Polling for the second phase in the state will take place on the 20th of this month. Defence Minister and Senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh held a public rally at Lohardaga in Ranchi.

8. Campaigning in full swing for assembly elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra; I.N.D.I.A bloc releases seven-point manifesto for Jharkhand. Congress President Malikarjun Kharge released the manifesto in presence of JMM leader Hemant Soren, Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kharge said, promises made in the manifesto include, two thousand five hundred rupees per month to every woman of the state and provision of ten lakh jobs to the youth.

9. Centre has released the Fifteenth Finance Commission Grants during the financial year 2024-25, for the Rural Local Bodies of Haryana, Tripura and Mizoram.

10. The first session of the 15th Legislative Assembly of Haryana will begin from November 13. Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan said that all preparations are being made for the upcoming sittings of the session.

11. The Election Commission of India has appointed Sanjay Kumar Verma as Maharashtra’s new Director General of Police.

12. The Government of Sikkim has implemented Odd-Even traffic movement for both Private and Government vehicles within Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC). The restriction is proposed from Mayfair Fatak to GICI, Zero Point. As per the order, the rule under Section 115 of Motor Vehicle Act 1988, will be implemented from 9:30 A.M to 12:00 P.M and 3:30 P.M to 6:00 P.M. The time between 12:00 P.M and 3:30 P.M has been declared as ‘window/exemption period to cater exigent tasks’.

14. Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that India will launch the European Space Agency mission named PROBA-3 next month from the Sriharikota Space Station. The mission will study the Sun’s faint corona closer to the solar rim.

15. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a new policy to enhance veterinary services by introducing diploma and certificate courses in animal husbandry and para-veterinary medicine. This decision, taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to address the shortage of veterinarians in the state.

16. Passengers can use Internet services through Wi-Fi only after the aircraft reaches an altitude of 3,000 metres, or 33,000 feet, guidelines issued by the government stated. The rules, part of the Flight and Maritime Connectivity (Amendment) Rules, 2024, aim to prevent distractions that could affect passenger safety and aircraft safety. The use of electronic devices is not permitted during critical flight phases like takeoff, initial climb and landing.

17. For the first time, the Prayagraj Railway Division will install face recognition cameras alongside CCTV at railway stations, specifically for the Mahakumbh, the Uttar Pradesh government said in a statement.

1. The Supreme Court on Tuesday, November 5, upheld the constitutional validity of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act 2004, overturning a previous ruling by the Allahabad High Court, which had deemed it “unconstitutional” and violative of the principles of secularism.

2. The Supreme Court, however, held the Madarsa Education Act “unconstitutional” to the extent it regulates higher education in relation to ‘fazil’ and ‘kamil’ degrees granting by Madarsas beyond class XII for being in conflict with the UGC Act.

1. Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) has announced the launch of its e-Bank Guarantee (e-BG) facility in collaboration with National e-Governance Services Ltd (NeSL). This innovative service modernizes the traditional bank guarantee process, transitioning from paper-based issuance requiring physical stamping and signatures to a fully digital format utilizing e-stamping and e-signatures.

2. BEML Limited has been awarded the prestigious “Self-Certification” status for its defense equipment by the Department of Defence Production (DDP) of the Government of India. 1. Kolkata-based Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd. on Tuesday (November 5, 2024) announced that it is currently in the process of building four ‘next-generation’ warships for the Indian Navy, reportedly the most advanced of all ocean-going patrol vessels so far in service with the Indian Coast Guard.

2. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) convened the 26th National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOSDCP) meeting today on November 05, 2024 in New Delhi, to review the nation’s preparedness for responding effectively to oil spill contingencies in Indian waters. It was chaired by Director General Paramesh Sivamani, who is also Chairperson of NOSDCP.

3. Lieutenant General M.V. Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander of the Northern Command, inaugurated the first-ever precast single officers’ accommodation at the Dhruva Command. This pioneering initiative, the first of its kind within the Indian Army, was developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar).

4. The Indian Army has released the official notification for the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Entry Scheme 35th Course, scheduled to commence in October 2025. This entry invites applications from unmarried male and female law graduates to join the Indian Army as Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Officers in the JAG branch.

6. The 5th edition of the Vietnam-India Bilateral Army Exercise, “VINBAX 2024,” began on Monday at Ambala. Scheduled from November 4 to 23, the exercise will take place at both Ambala and Chandimandir, aiming to strengthen military cooperation and interoperability between the two nations. Exercise Details VINBAX 2024 will be conducted as a field training exercise, expanding on the scope of previous editions.
