1. The President Droupadi Murmu has emphasised the need to encourage youth to establish enterprises in Ayurveda sector to increase the availability of traditional medicines across the country. Inaugurating the 8th Foundation Day celebrations of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi, the President said.

2. PM Modi laid the foundation stone of various developmental projects in Maharashtra worth over 7600 crore rupees through video conference.

9. The National Conference leader Omar Abdullah Wednesday said the results of the assembly elections prove that the majority of the people in Jammu and Kashmir have not endorsed the Centre’s decision of revocation of the special status of the erstwhile state.

10. In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed his gratitude to the people of Jammu Kashmir and lauded the efforts of election officials, J&K Police and Security Forces for peaceful, transparent, free and fair Assembly Elections in the state.

11. In Telangana, the Cabinet Sub-Committee on SC sub-categorisation has decided to recommend the appointment of a judicial commission to study sub-classification within the Scheduled Castes (SC) reserved categories.

12. Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) announced that candidates can download Group 1 mains exam hall tickets from the commission’s website from October 14. The Group 1 mains exam will be held in Hyderabad (including HMDA jurisdiction) from October 21 to 27 from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.

13. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held high-level discussions with Union Ministers in Delhi recently, aiming to advance infrastructure and economic development projects for the state. Key projects were discussed with Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, including the Vijayawada Eastern Bypass, Hyderabad-Vijayawada expressway expansion, and the Kuppam-Hosur Greenfield Project. Mr. Gadkari assured prioritization for these projects to enhance connectivity.

14. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan, Goa and Maharashtra during the next two days.

1. Samudrayaan Mission’s Matsya-6000 submersible getting ready for wet test. The crew for this ground breaking mission will consist of three members, one of whom is confirmed to be a retired Indian Navy submariner.

The mission is set to undergo its maiden wet test in the final week of October, where scientists and engineers at the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) will evaluate the submersible’s flotation, buoyancy, and life support systems.

2. The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act or AFSPA was extended in four districts of Assam for six months in view of the “recent disturbances” in Bangladesh and its potentially inimical effect on the internal law and order situation, according to a notification issued on Tuesday. The districts of Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo and Sivasagar will remain “disturbed area” under the AFSPA.

3. ARMY COMMANDERS TO HOLD TOP SECURITY CONFERENCE ALONG CHINA BORDER IN SIKKIM : All senior commanders of the Indian Army will be convening in Sikkim for a crucial conference. This meeting, scheduled for October 10-11, marks the first time top Army officials will gather at a location near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. This will be the First meeting of top Army commanders under leadership of General Upendra Dwivedi.

4. The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to India of MK-54 MOD 0 lightweight torpedoes and related equipment, the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced.

5. A Territorial Army (TA) soldier was reportedly abducted by terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir : An Indian Army soldier Hilal Ahmad Bhat was found dead, with bullet injuries on his body.

According to reports, Two soldiers, belonging to the 161 unit of the Territorial Army, were taken from a forested area by terrorists in Anantnag during a joint anti-terror operation that was launched on October 8 by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. But, one of them managed to escape, even after suffering two bullet injuries.
