1. The Badminton Association of India has sent a team of 39 players to the Asia Under-15 and Under -17 Junior Championships in Chengdu, China, commencing Tuesday.
The team aims to win multiple medals and build a strong foundation for the 2025 World Junior Championship, which will be hosted by India.
2. Peter Wilson, the legendary double trap marksman, has showcased interest in the Indian team coaching job and wants to train the shooters for the Los Angeles Games in 2028. The 37-year-old from Great Britain, recently guided his country-mate Nathan Hales to a trap gold in the recently concluded Paris Olympics 2024. Wilson was the youngest to win a gold medal in the double trap at the London Olympics 2012.
3. The Durand Cup match between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal scheduled to be held in Kolkata, has been canceled.
CPRO Defence said, the much anticipated Derby match of the 133 rd Durand Cup Group A fixture scheduled at the Vivekananda Yube Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, has been abandoned because of the inability of the state police to provide necessary security for the match due to other engagements.
