The film focuses on Jesmin, a British Bangladeshi feminist writer, who directed
and produced many plays in the UK. The film focuses on her current play
‘Telegram’, highlighting the struggles and wins of working class migrants in the
1970s. The film weaves in her own experience as a woman and a first generation
migrant crossing many hurdles to build a sense of self in a foreign country.
