The story of a rodent’s unrelenting quest for happiness and fulfillment
This is a story about the capitalist way of life – a literal rat race, where ‘happiness’ is up for sale. In the film, the rats are easily distracted and act on impulse. They experience short-lived thrills only to crash and burn. In their search for the elusive idea of happiness, they become slaves to the system. This is a world that unfortunately we all know too well.
‘Happiness’ is a delightful yet disturbing film. It’s strength lies in its nuanced depiction of the perils of modern human life.
