“Femi” (2018) by Arnold Peters

Femi by Arnold Peters

A little girl is confronted by one of the most important decisions of her life when she finds an immigrant boy sleeping in her shed.

Looking at life through the eyes of a child is always interesting – even more so when they look at social constructs such as racial prejudice. ‘Femi’ deals with the very relevant subject of immigration and the practice of ‘othering’, which is a common phenomenon practiced by most of us. We are used to perceiving the ‘other’ in a negative light when we know little to nothing about them. But what happens when this ‘other’ becomes a friend?

Watch ‘Femi’ to witness an unlikely friendship built upon compassion and understanding.
