1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu addresses Constitution Day event at Samvidhan Sadan : She has urged citizens to imbibe the Constitutional ideals into their behaviour, fulfill their fundamental duties and work towards achieving the national goal of a developed India by 2047.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to all citizens on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution Day on 26 Nov (yesterday).

3. The Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh said that the Digital Life Certificate (DLC), introduced for the convenience of pensioners and elder citizens, has crossed the record one crore mark in the ongoing “DLC 3.0.” campaign.

4. National Milk Day is being celebrated yesterday to honour the 103rd birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, fondly remembered as the Father of the White Revolution in India.

5. The Central Government has approved over ₹1,115 crore rupees for disaster mitigation and capacity building projects for fifteen States. A High-Level Committee, under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved this fund.

The Committee approved 378 crore rupees for eight North East States, 139 crore rupees each for Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, one hundred crore rupees for Maharashtra, 72 crore rupees each for Karnataka and Kerala, and 50 crore rupees each for Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

In Mumbai, Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan accompanied by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, yesterday, paid tributes to martyrs on the 16th anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. They placed wreaths at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial in the premises of the Mumbai Police Commissionerate to honour the martyrdom of police officers and jawans who made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting terrorists during the Mumbai terror attack in 2008.

7. Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that the government is working towards making the country Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) free by 2030. Addressing the National Milk Day Celebrations in New Delhi, the Minister said that Animal Husbandry contributes greatly to the economy of the country.

8. The Indian government has officially approved the Venus Orbiter Mission, named Shukrayaan, which is set to launch in March 2028. This mission aims to deepen our understanding of Venus, often referred to as Earth’s twin due to its similar size and proximity.

9. Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has inaugurated 227 Gender Resource Centres in 13 states under the Nayi Chetna 3.0 campaign.

10. The Union Cabinet has approved the continuation of its flagship initiative, the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) with an enhanced scope of work and an allocated budget of ₹2,750 crore rupees for the period till March 31, 2028.

11. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved three projects of Ministry of Railways with total cost of around ₹7,927 crore rupees. These projects include 160 kilometer long Manmad – Jalgaon fourth line, 131 kilometer long Bhusawal – Khandwa third and fourth line and 84 kilometer long Prayagraj – Manikpur third Line.

12. The Maharashtra government has reinstated IPS officer Rashmi Shukla as Director General of Police (DGP) after the conclusion of the assembly polls.

13. Ayodhya Ram Mandir Won’t Celebrate Pran-Pratishtha’s 1st Anniversary On Jan 22. instead it would be celebrated on 11 January 2025.

According to the Hindu calendar, the consecration ceremony took place on Paush Shukla Paksh Dwadshi, also known as Kurma Dwadashi (12th day in the full moon cycle of Paush month). In 2025, the Hindu calendar date falls on January 11, so it has been decided to follow the Hindu calendar and celebrate the pran-pratishtha ceremony on January 11 in 2025.

ISRO Publishes Mars Landing Sequence For Mangalyaan-2 Mission : ISRO’s Mars landing sequence is part of its ambitious Mars Lander Mission (MLM), also known as Mangalyaan-2, which aims to enhance India’s capabilities in interplanetary exploration. The mission is set to include advanced technologies such as a supersonic parachute and a sky crane soft landing system to ensure a safe landing on Mars.

1. At the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), over 70 films across genres showcased yesterday, on the sixth day of screenings. Several of these movies, including India Votes, Stride, and Beyond the Court: The Indian Wheelchair Basketball Journey, will be featured under the “Accessible India: Accessible Films” section. This section highlights Indian and international films enhanced with audio descriptions and Indian Sign Language, enabling visually and hearing-impaired audiences to fully experience the narratives.

In addition to theater screenings, IFFI has organized Open Air Screenings for the audience. Screenings of three films, including Migration, Brahmāstra: Part One, and The Secret Life of Pets 2, will take place at various beaches across the city.

2. Kulasekhar, known for some very popular songs in Tollywood passed away on Tuesday. He breathed his last at Gandhi Hospital.

He was responsible for several hits and worked mostly with music director RP Patnaik and director Teja.
Some of the famous songs written by Kulasekhar are Appudo Ippudo (Bommarillu), Ranu Ranu Antune Chinnadi, Gajuwaka Pilla, Desam Manadi, Devude Digi Vachina, Yegire Mabbulalona, Veeri Veeri (Jayam).

DEFENCE News

1. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is actively developing smoothbore guns for the Next Generation Main Battle Tank (NGMBT), which is part of the broader Future Main Battle Tank (FMBT) project aimed at modernizing the Indian Army’s armoured capabilities. This initiative is crucial as it seeks to replace the aging T-72 tanks currently in service.

2. India’s recent investment of ₹45,000 crore (approximately $5.4 billion) in maritime defence marks a significant milestone in the country’s submarine evolution. This funding is earmarked for the construction of two nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs) at the Ship Building Centre in Visakhapatnam.

3. General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff of India, recently addressed young military leaders at the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) in Pune, emphasizing the need for a seismic shift in military strategy to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of warfare. He urged these next-generation leaders to “stay ahead of the curve” by reimagining and reconstructing their approaches to military operations and strategy.

4. The current Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Dr. D.K. Sunil, is reportedly visiting aircraft engine facilities in Russia. This visit aligns with HAL’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its collaboration in the defence sector, particularly in the area of aircraft engines, which are crucial for India’s military aviation capabilities.

5. Indian Army has partnered with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in defence technology at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow. This collaboration aims to enhance India’s self-reliance in defence technology.

6. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is set to conduct SAREX-24, the largest National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise in India, from November 27 to 30, 2024, in Kochi. This event is organized under the auspices of the 22nd National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board meeting and aims to enhance maritime safety through regional collaboration.

7. The Indian Army is set to open several border areas for tourism as part of a new initiative aimed at enhancing regional development and national security. This initiative, known as Border Area Tourism, was announced during the Border Area Development Seminar held on 11 September 2024.
