1. Budget Session of Parliament will begin Monday and on Tuesday Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha. It will be the first budget of the Narendra Modi Government in its third term.

2. The Monsoon Session begins on Monday and will have 19 sittings till August 12 when the government is expected to present six bills, including the one to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act, and also get the Parliament nod for the budget of Jammu and Kashmir, which is under central rule.

1. In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called upon the people to stand united in the fight against the divisive forces who are trying to disturb peace in Jammu region.

2. Around 3,000 Army troops along with 400-500 special forces personnel have been inducted into the Jammu area around a week ago, defence sources said.

3. Bomb disposal squads have defused a live grenade found on the rooftop of a government building in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

4. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is planning to equip its Sukhoi Su-30MKI aircraft with the indigenous Uttam Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar developed by the Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE).

5. *INDIA TO BUILD GIANT RESEARCH VESSEL TO PROPEL DEEP OCEAN MISSION, SIGNS ₹840 CRORES CONTRACT:* The Deep Ocean Mission was launched with an estimated cost of Rs 4077.0 crore for a period of five years

The specialised 89.5 metres long ship will be built for ₹840 crore and is likely to be ready within the next three and a half years. It will be able to operate at a depth of nearly 6,000 metres with additional deployment of AUVs.

6. The Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) has successfully completed the Afloat Training Course for 76 trainees onboard the First Training Squadron (1TS) of the Indian Navy. The training programme was conducted in Kochi for three weeks with a focus on harbour and seafarer ships.
