Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir topped the medals tally in the second edition of Khelo India Winter National Games. J&K won 11 gold, 18 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The five-day mega sports event which began on 26th of February, concluded in the famous ski resort of Gulmarg in the north Kashmir’s Baramulla district yesterday.
Event which was e-inaugurated by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on February 26. In his address, Mr Modi had said that the second edition of Khelo India winter games is a major step towards making Jammu and Kashmir a hub of the winter games.
In the event, more than 1,000 athletes from 27 states and union territories took part. The event was organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council and the Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir.
