1. India have won 24 medals – GOLD 5 | SILVER 9 | BRONZE 10
(a) The Indian para – badminton team returned to India with pride and medals from the Paris Paralympics 2024 showcasing the true spirit of resilience and excellence. They were welcomed at the IGI Airport in New Delhi. While Shuttler Kumar Nitesh has won Gold Medal, Thulasimathy Murugesan and Suhas Yathiraj won Silver Medals and Manisha Ramdass and Nithya Sre Sivan won Bronze medals. PM Narendra Modi lauds performance of India’s Paralympic contingent.
(b) Paris Paralympics 2024 Day 7 Highlights: HISTORIC!!! India’s Dharambir and Pranav Soorma claim gold and silver in Men’s Club Throw – F51 event with their best efforts of 34.92m and 34.59m respectively.
Harvinder scripts history, becomes 1st Indian archer to win Paralympic gold.
2. In Badminton, India’s Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Sankar Subramanian reached the men’s singles quarterfinals of the Taipei Open badminton tournament. Karunakaran defeated Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand 24-22, 23-21. In another match, Subramanian defeated his Finnish opponent, Joakim Oldorff, 21-12, 19-21, 21-11.
