2. In Men’s Cricket, the first T20 International of five-match series between India and Australia in Canberra was called off midway due to incessant rainfall. Put in to bat, India were cruising at 97 for 1 in 9.4 overs when rain interrupted play at Manuka Oval. Earlier, the match was reduced to 18 overs per side due to rain. Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to field.
3. Punjab’s Namitbir Singh Walia from Jalandhar has become an International Master (IM) in Chess by securing the fourth overall position at the 3rd Annemasse International Masters Tournament in France, recently.
