1. India wrapped up their campaign at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region, finishing 20th in the medal standings. India won a total of 12 medals, with two gold, five silver, and as many bronze.

Japan topped the overall standings with 34 gold medals, with the People’s Republic of China coming in second with 30 golds, followed by the USA with 28.

2. The President Smt Droupadi Murmu has congratulated Indian Grandmasters Divya Deshmukh and Koneru Humpy on being the winner and runner up respectively at the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025.

Divya Deshmukh became the first Indian woman to win the FIDE Women’s World Cup title after defeating fellow Indian Koneru Humpy in the final, in Batumi, Georgia.

3. India’s Tejaswin Shankar has set a new national decathlon record for the second time, scoring 7,826 points to finish fourth at the Wieslaw Czapiewski Memorial 2025 athletics meet held in Poland.

4. India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who sustained a fracture to his right foot during the fourth Test against England in Manchester, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test of the series.
