2. Surya Charishma Tamiri clinched the Women’s Singles title at the 87th Senior National Badminton Championships in Vijayawada with her victory over Tanvi Patri. After losing the opening game, Tamiri staged a strong comeback to win the final 17 -21, 21-12, 21-14.
3. Indian Tennis star Vaidehi Chaudhary clinched the women’s singles title at the W35 Solapur Tennis Tournament in Maharashtra. The 25-year-old, seeded sixth in the tournament, defeated Japan’s Michika Ozeki in a thrilling three-set final.
4. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from 15th of January to 6th of February, 2026. The squad will be led by Ayush Mhatre, while Vihaan Malhotra will be the Vice Captain. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Aaron George and Abhigyan Kundu are also part of the squad. Five-time champions India have been placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh, New Zealand and the United States. India will begin their campaign against the US on the 15th of January at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
