2. Hockey India today announced the 16-member Indian men’s hockey team for Paris 2024 Olympics, scheduled from 26th of next month to 11th of August. The team, with five Olympic debutants, will be led by ace drag-flicker and defender Harmanpreet Singh. Powerful midfielder Hardik Singh will be the vice-captain. The squad also features veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh.
3. Smriti Mandhana became the first Indian woman to record two consecutive ODI hundreds during the second ODI against South Africa at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on June 19. She scripted history on 23 June, after she registered the record for the most runs by an Indian woman in a bilateral One-Day International series.
4. The four-day National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2024, from Thursday to Sunday, will see India’s top track and field athletes in action at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana.
The 63rd edition of the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships will be the final Paris 2024 Olympics qualifying event for Indian track and field athletes. The athletics qualifying window for the upcoming Summer Games ends on 30 June.
