1. The Indian men’s team bagged the gold medal, defeating Japan in the ISTAF Sepak Takraw World Cup final yesterday at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna in the regular category. The six-day mega-sports event concluded yesterday at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.

2. In Squash, Anahat Singh, Joshna Chinappa, Akansha Salunkhe and Veer Chotrani progressed to the third round of the Indian Open Squash tournament with impressive wins at the Bombay Gymkhana. The 17-year-old Anahat defeated Spain’s Cristina Gomez 3-1 (11-5, 9-11, 11-5, 11-2) in their contest.

3. On the sixth day of the Khelo India Para Games in Delhi, powerlifters, shooters, and table tennis players competed fiercely to emerge as champions. In powerlifting, Reshma Mogal won the gold medal in the Elite 73 kg category, while Ashaben Patel secured silver and Maya claimed bronze.

In the Elite 88 kg category Sudhir took gold, Rahul Jograjiya earned silver, and Jagmohan settled for bronze.

Elite 97 kg category, Sumit Kumar won gold, Hemant Kumar secured silver, and Zavir took bronze.

(b) In shooting, Akash secured the gold medal in the Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 category. Sanjeev Kumar won silver while Rudransh claimed bronze in the same event.

4. The second edition of the Asian Yogasana Sports Championship has been rescheduled and will now take place from April 25 to 27, 2025, in the national capital. Originally planned for March 29-31, the revised dates reflect considerations for requests from international teams seeking additional preparation time and also align with the observance of the holy month of Ramadan.

5. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the retainers for the Indian Women’s team for the 2024-25 season, covering the period from the 1st of October, 2024 to 30th of September, 2025.
