1. In Chess, India creates history by double gold at Chess Olympiad in Hungary (in both Open & Women sections).
(a) India created history winning their first ever Olympiad gold, and doing so in both Open and Women’s categories.
(b) The Indian men’s team wrapped up the 45th Olympiad with a splendid 21 points out of a possible 22.

2. In Cricket, India defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs in the Opening Test in Chennai today, taking a 1-Nil lead in the two-match series. Chasing a mammoth target of 515 runs, Bangladesh were bundled out for 234 runs in their second innings on Day 4.

3. Indian wrestler Sangram Singh became the first Indian male wrestler to win an MMA (mixed martial arts) fight at the Gama International Fighting Championship Tbilisi in Georgia. Commonwealth heavyweight wrestling champion Sangram won in a 90-second match against the Pakistani opponent, Ali Raza Nasir.
