2. The Indian boxing contingent made a remarkable impact at the 3rd Elorda Cup 2024, held in the Kazakh capital city of Astana. The team returned with an impressive haul of 12 medals, including 2 gold, 2 silver, and 8 bronze .
(a) India’s top-ranked female boxer, Nikhat Zareen, clinched the gold medal in the 52 kg category. Hailing from Nizamabad, Telangana.
(b) Minakshi from Hisar, Haryana (48 kg category) won Gold medal.
(c) Anamika (50 kg) and Manisha (60 kg) claimed silver medals.
3. Jyoti Ratre, an entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast, 55-year-old mountaineer from Madhya Pradesh, has become the oldest Indian woman to conquer Mount Everest.
4. In the Asian Relay Championships 2024, the Indian men’s and women’s 4×400 metre teams bagged two silver medals in Bangkok, Thailand. The men’s relay team of Muhammad Anas Yahiya, T Santosh Kumar, Mijo Chacko Kurian, and Rajiv Arokia finished behind the Sri Lankan team, to secure the silver.
