2. In Boxing, India’s Jasmine Lamboria stormed into the quarterfinals of the women’s 57 kg at the Boxing World Qualifiers in Bangkok, Thailand. She defeated Ana Marija Milisic of Switzerland with a dominating 5-nil victory in the round 16.
3. In badminton, India’s Tanvi Sharma bagged the women’s singles title of the Bonn International Badminton Tournament, in Germany. The young Indian shuttler defeated Wang Pei Yu of Taiwan in straight sets, 21-19, 22-20. This is the first senior title for 15 year old Tanvi.
4. In Badminton, Indian pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand crashed out of Singapore Open after losing in the women’s doubles Semi Final. Indian duo lost to Nami Matsuyama-Chiharu Shida of Japan.
5. India’s DP Manu and Nithya Ramraj brought home one gold and one silver medals, respectively, at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2024. In men’s Javelin throw, Manu clinched the gold medal with the best effort of 81.58 metres.
In the women’s 100 metre hurdles, Nithya Ramraj bagged the silver medal with a timing of 13.23 seconds.
