2. The Coca-Cola India Foundation, has forged its maiden alliance with Hockey India for the National Women’s Hockey League 2024 . This collaboration aims to elevate women’s hockey by providing essential resources and support to players, aligning with Coca-Cola India’s commitment to sports and gender equality through its #SheTheDifference campaign.
3. Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic and world champion in javelin throw, started his 2024 season on a strong note, securing a second-place finish at the Doha Diamond League 2024. Chopra’s impressive throw of 88.36m on his final attempt fell just 2cm short of Czechia’s Jakub Vadlejch, the reigning Diamond League champion and Tokyo 2020 silver medalist.
4. In Shooting, four Indian shooters have secured the coveted Paris Olympic quota in the 25 meter Pistol category at the Olympic Selection Trials in Bhopal. In the men’s 25 meter pistol category, Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveer Sidhu finished atop the trials at the MP shooting academy in Bhopal.
5. The BCCI has invited fresh applications for the post of head coach as Rahul Dravid’s extended tenure approaches completion. Initially handed a 2-year contract, the former India captain was given an extension along with his support staff after the conclusion of the 50-over World Cup in November last year.
The Indian cricket board released an official statement on Monday night, asking the applicants to apply by 27 May, 6 PM.
