2. In tennis, India’s Yuki Bhambri and his partner, Albano Olivetti of France have advanced to the Men’s doubles Semi-finals of the Stuttgart Open in Germany.
Bhambri and Olivetti defeated Theo Arribage and Sadio Doumbia of France in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. The duo will take on the duo of Julian Cash of UK and Robert Galloway of US on Saturday.
3. In Badminton, Indian shuttlers H. S. Prannoy and Sameer Verma have progressed to the Men’s Singles Quarterfinals of the Australian Open in Sydney yesterday.
Fifth seed Prannoy got the better of Misha Zilberman of Israel 21-17, 21-15 in the round of 16, while Verma upset eighth seed Loh Kean Yew of Singapore in Women’s Singles.
Aakarshi Kashyap also advanced to the quarterfinals. She defeated Kai Qi Teoh.
In Mixed Doubles also Indian duo B. Sumeeth Reddy and N. Sikki Reddy entered the quarterfinals.
