1. In Badminton, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu crashed out of All England Open Championships in Birmingham yesterday. She lost to Kim Ga-Eun of South Korea, 21-19, 13-21, 13-21 in the first round of Women’s Singles. Women Doubles pair of Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra also bowed out after going down against Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee of South Korea.
2. India has made a positive start to its campaign at the 12th Special Olympics World Winter 2025, bagging four medals including two gold and as many silver on the first day at Turin in Italy. Samir Yadav and Bharti grabbed a gold medal each in the Snowboarding (Novice Gaint Slalom) final at Bardonecchia while Hem Chand and Harshita Thakur took home a silver each in their respective divisions at the same event.
3. The second phase of the four-day 5th Khelo India Winter Games at the picturesque Gulmarg in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district concluded.
