1. The International Championship of Handball – IHF Trophy Men’s Youth and Junior (Continental Phase – Asia) has started in Lucknow for the first time in the KD Singh Babu Stadium. Four countries—Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and India—are taking part in the tournament. The finals of the tournament will be played on Tuesday. This is a qualification tournament and the winner will qualify for the world championship.
2. The trophies and mascots for the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup to be held in India were unveiled in New Delhi. The tournament, scheduled from January 13 to 19, will feature 21 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams from 24 countries.
3. Paris Paralympics Silver Medalist Thulasi Murugesan honoured with Arjuna Award.
