Satisfactory performance, by Paralmpians but no medal in pocket On Day 1
India started its campaign in Paralympics, with women single table tennis (individual C3) match , with Sonal PatelтАЩs debut match. 33 years Old , Gujarati girl , Sonal did a hard struggle till 4th set , with 11-9, 3-11, 17-15, 7-11, pushes the game to draw at 2-2. Indeed it was a thrilling match, A neck to neck match, till the last round but Sonal Patel seemed gave up in last match scored 4-11 . Lost to ChinтАЩs Q- Li by 2-3 , in the first group stage match
On the other hand, in her debut match , worldтАЩs no.8 Bhavani Patel , was not able to perform at par . she goes down to 0-3 Zhou Ying (china) in Class 4 event . Ying took early lead in the 1st set of 7-1 over the Indian paddler, that had clearly indicated the Chinees has upper hand. Within 5minutes Ying confidentially won the match by 3-11.
& continue to lead in all three matches Bhavani lost the sets by 3-11, 9-11, 2-11 .
Sonal Patel & Bhavani Patel will play their next respective group matches tomorrow.
