The camp is mandatory for all selected senior swimmers & all selected swimmers were requested to fill up the training consent form and also follow the guideline of COVID-19.
Ever since the announcement of this camp for senior swimmers has come all are wondering, is it important to host a camp and put all selected swimmers in self-isolation? As self- isolation of fifteen (15) days prior to joining of training is the required protocol. How good it is going to do to these selected swimmers when they spend 15 days in self- isolation.
On the other hand all the other states of country have opened swimming pools as per the unlock 4.0 guidelines issued by MHA, Govt of India. Only Delhi swimming pools are still not operational.
Delhi swimmers are left with no option other than training in all-weather swimming pools in NCR as Sports Authority of India, Excellence Centre, Delhi’s Shymaprasad swimming pool is yet to get clearance from disaster management. All Delhi swimmers are hoping that shymaprasad swimming pool with three all-weather swimming pools will be operational soon. In past, Indian swimming team national camp for Rio Olympics was hosted at Delhi’s Shymaprasad swimming pool only.Let’s hope that our countries probables for Tokyo Olympics/ elite athletes across sports are given covid -19 vaccines on priority so they can save 15 days of self- isolation prior to joining of training. After All Tokyo Clock Is Clicking!
Very much needed for the elite Swimmers of the country
