3. UEFA Champions League – Benfica eliminate Juventus, PSG thump Maccabi Haifa 7-2, Leipzig stun Madrid, Dortmund held Man City.
Juventus missed out on the Champions League knockout rounds after going down against Benfica in a 3-4 thriller at Estadio da Luz on Tuesday.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe scored twice each and Neymar also found the back of the net as Paris St. Germain thrashed Maccabi Haifa 7-2 to enter the last 16 of the Champions League.
Real Madrid, who have already qualified for the last 16, suffered this season’s first defeat at the hands of RB Leipzig 2-3.
Chelsea clinched a spot in the Champions League round of 16 after Kai Havertz helped the Premier League club to secure a 2-1 win over Red Bull Salzburg. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund played a 0-0 stalemate with Manchester City to qualify for the knockout stages.
