1. Satwik-Chirag pair achieves career-best world no. 2 ranking.
Fresh from winning the Korea Open, India’s top men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy on Tuesday rose to a career-best second spot in the latest BWF rankings. Satwik and Chirag gained a place, displacing the Chinese pair of Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang whom they had defeated in the Korea Open semifinals last week, to achieve a new career-high ranking in the men’s doubles circuit.
2. The schedule for India’s ODI and T20I series against Australia has been released. The ODIs will be played on September 22, 24 and 27 in Mohali, Indore and Rajkot respectively, while the T20I series will take place after the ODI World Cup 2023. The T20Is will take place on November 23, 26, 28, December 1 and 3.
3. India’s Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy have entered the second round of Japan Open badminton Tournament in Tokyo.
4. India’s Kamaljeet clinched Gold Medal on 24th July 2023 in MenтАЩs individual 50 metre Pistol Event at ISSF Junior Shooting World Championship 2023 at Changwon Shooting Range, Korea.
5. Katie Ledecky wins gold in 1,500 at the swimming worlds to tie mark set by Michael Phelps. Katie Ledecky won the 1,500-meter freestyle with ease on Tuesday at the World Aquatics Championships in a landmark victory which made her the most decorated female swimmer at the worlds with 20 golds overall, 15 of which have come in individual events.
That ties Michael PhelpsтАЩ record at the worlds for individual gold medals.
