1. Hockey : India won bronze medal beating Pakistan 4-3 in Dhaka on Wednesday in Asian Champions Trophy Hockey tournament. India started on a bright note after Harmanpreet Singh scored from the penalty corner earlier which helped India take a 1-0 lead in the first quarter.
2. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur thanked Tokyo Olympics Bronze Medallist and wrestler Bajrang Punia for joining the Meet the Champions initiative. In a tweet, Mr.Thakur said that it is a matter of pleasure that country’s players are guiding the school children by joining the Meet the Champions program on the clarion call of PM Narendra Modi.
