3. Chetan Sharma stepped down as Chief Selector of the Indian cricket team today following a sting operation by a private news channel in which he made startling revelations. He tendered his resignation to BCCI secretary which has been accepted.
4. Ravindra Jadeja has become the quickest Indian all-rounder to reach 2,500 runs and 250 wickets in Tests. The 34-year-old achieved the feat after reaching the 250-wicket mark during Day 1 of Delhi Test against Australia. Jadeja took 62 Tests to achieve the milestone of 2,500 runs and 250 wickets. The previous record was held by Kapil Dev (65 Tests).
5. Qatar-based bid for Manchester United confirmed on deadline day. Sheikh Jassim, chairman of Qatar Islamic Bank, has submitted a 100% offer to buy out current owners, the Glazer family. He is the son of a former prime minister.

India staged a remarkable comeback to down Hong Kong 3-2 and qualify for the semifinals of the Asia Mixed Team Badminton Championships and ensure a first-ever medal in the continental tournament here on Friday.
