1. US OPEN : Daniil Medvedev of Russia lifted his first Grand Slam trophy after beating Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in the US Open men’s singles final at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
2. British teenager Emma Raducanu clinches Women’s Singles title; Joe Salisbury of Britain and his American partner Desirae Krawczyk win Mixed Doubles title.
3. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth congratulated Raducanu on her success and said it is a testament to her hard work and dedication.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Raducanu showed extraordinary skill in the game.
4. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Dr. Virendra Kumar felicitated Tokyo Paralympics medal winners of the Indian Paralympics Contingent. He also felicitated the coaches of the Paralympians. A cash award of ten lakh rupees has been given to Gold Medalists, eight lakh to Silver and five lakh to Bronze medal winners.
