ICC MENS T20 WORLD CUP 2021
1. President Ram Nath Kovind will give away the National Sports Awards 2021 today at a specially organized function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award will be given to 12 sportspersons.
35 sportspersons will receive Arjuna Award. The President will also present Dronacharya Award to outstanding coaches in Sports and Games, Dhyan Chand Award for Lifetime Achievement in Sports and Games and Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar.
2. FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 .
Hockey India named the 18-member Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team who will defend the title at the much-awaited FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021. The event slated to begin on 24 November will witness 16 top teams from across the globe.
3. The 18-member team includes Shardanand Tiwari, Prashant Chauhan, Sudeep Chirmako, Rahul Kumar Rajbhar, Maninder Singh, Pawan, Vishnukant Singh, Ankit Pal, Uttam Singh, Sunil Jojo, Manjeet, Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem, Abhishek Lakra, Yashdeep Siwach, Gurmukh Singh and Araijeet Singh Hundal.
Dinachandra Singh Moirangthem and Boby Singh Dhami have been chosen as alternate players who will be allowed to play only if there is an injury or someone in the 18-member squad is ruled out of the tournament due to covid-19.
4. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has lauded the UP government for recognizing the efforts of para-athletes and felicitating para-athletes who won medals at the Tokyo Paralympics. He also lauded CM Yogi Adityanath for his government’s decision to set up a Sports University in Meerut. Rs. 32.50 crore rupees were distributed to 17 players who won medals and six players who participated in the Tokyo Paralympics.
