1. Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday launched an ambitious initiative to provide world class treatment and rehabilitation to elite athletes injured during competition or training. The Centralised Athlete Injury Management System (CAIMS) aims to provide inputs on prevention, diagnosis and high quality treatment and rehabilitation to athletes on time.

2. French Open Tennis Tournament, the 2018 Champions and second seeded pair of Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova won the first Women’s doubles semifinal. They defeated the duo of Magda Linette and Bernarda Pera 6-1, 6-2.

3. In second semi-final, the 14th seeded team of Iga Świątek and Bethanie Mattek-Sands won 6-3, 6-4 against the duo of Irina Begu and Nadia Podoroska.

4. 23-year-old Neeraj Chopra won the javelin gold medal in the Meeting Cidade de Lisboa in Lisbon, with a throw of 83.18 metres recorded.

5. 26-year-old Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat proved that her preparations for the Tokyo Games were on track by winning the 53kg gold at the Poland Open Friday.
It is third title of the season for the Vinesh, who claimed gold medals at the Matteo Pellicone event (March) and Asian Championship (April) earlier. The victory would potentially make Vinesh the top seed at the Tokyo Olympics.
