4. Indian shuttlers Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth’s campaign at Hylo Open Super 500 Badminton Championship ended in semifinals at Saarbrucken in Germany.
In the first semifinals, former champion and world no 21 Lakshya went down to world no 39 Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 18-21, 12-21. Srikanth lost to Malaysian Lee Zii Jia 19-21, 20-22 in the second semifinals.

Woman wrestler shot dead in Haryana, name causes confusion : It was meant to be a regular day at practice for Nisha Dahiya as she geared up for the National Wrestling Championships in Gonda but, by the end of it, the shocked youngster was busy proving that she is alive after a namesake of her was shot dead in Haryana. But it didn’t take long for everyone to realise that the murdered woman was a trainee wrestler, who happened to go by the same name of Nisha.
Wrestler Nisha Dahiya has released a video this evening saying she is absolutely fine after reports emerged that she had been shot dead in Haryana. Nisha, who recently won a bronze medal at the Under-23 World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, was practising at the venue when she was told about the news.
6. India’s sports stars including badminton P V Sindhu was conferred the Padma Bhushan — the country’s third-highest civilian award, while women’s football icon Bembem Devi, archer Tarundeep Rai and women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal were conferred with the Padma Shri by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
