1. Medal Winners of Olympics were Felicitated:Neeraj Chopra, India’s first athletics gold medallist at the Olympics, silver medallist Ravi Kumar Dahiya & bronze medallists Bajrang Punia, Lovlina Borgohain & the Indian men’s hockey team were all felicitated by Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Law Minister and former Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju at the Ashoka Hotel in Delhi.
The ministers lauded the Indian women’s hockey team’s historic finish and all others who gave their all in Tokyo.
PV Sindhu & Chanu did not attend the ceremony as they had arrived earlier and are currently at their home bases.
2. President Ram Nath Kovind praised golfer Aditi Ashok who finished 4th in the Tokyo Olympics for an impressive display of grit and skills. In a tweet, the President said, she has taken Indian golfing to new heights.
3. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a cash award of 25 lakh rupees for Vandana Katariya, who represented India at Tokyo Olympics in Women’s Hockey.
