1. Wimbledon Tennis 2021 Women’s Singles Semi-finals : Karolina Pliskova beat Aryna Sabalenka 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the final, where she will meet Ashleigh Barty. Karolina Pliskova is a former world No. 1 in singles, reaching the top of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
2. Mr Anurag Thakur assumed the charge of Union Sports Minister, in addition to Youth affairs and Information & Broadcasting Minister. He is a member of the Lower House of Parliament in India from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, Former sports minister Mr. Kiren Rijiju took charge as the Law and Justice Minister.
3. Tokyo Olympics: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announces prize money of Rs 6 crores for gold medal winners from state Rs 4 crore for silver, and Rs 2.5 crore for bronze. Besides, Rs 15 lakh will be given to each of the athletes from the state who have qualified for the Olympics.
