1. Jasprit Bumrah will lead Team India for Ireland T20. Bumrah has returned to international cricket after a long injury layoff. T20I series against Ireland to be played in Dublin from the 18th of August.
2. Indian shooters and archers bagged six medals including four golds at the World University Games in Chengdu, China.
The Indian team of Aman Saini and Pragati clinched gold in the mixed team compound archery event at the FISU World University Games.
3. DD Sports will air State Final Rounds of Fit India Quiz 2022 starting today. A total of 36 episodes will be aired, one for each State.
4. In Cricket, the third One Day International of the three-match series between India and the West Indies will be played at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad today. The match will start at 7 pm IST.
5. The Indian women’s hockey team wins the title of Torneo del Centernario 2023 by defeating hosts Spain 3-0 in Terrassa, Barcelona on 30th July.
6. Ashes 2023: England Beat Australia by 49 Runs in 5th Test, Draw Series 2-2.
Australia had already retained the coveted urn but narrowly missed out on claiming their first Ashes series win in England since 2001.
They won the first two tests but lost the third and had looked set to lose the fourth until two days of almost uninterrupted rain led to a draw.
The fifth test was finely poised going into the final afternoon, with Australia batting their way steadily past 250 as they chased a huge target of 384.
But after a lengthy rain delay England’s bowlers came out and took the remaining seven wickets to claim the win. Australia, chasing 384 to win, collapsed from 264-3 to 334 all out, with England’s retiring paceman Stuart Broad taking the final wicket.
