Special Olympics Bharat organises Bocce and Bowling National Championships in New Delhi

September 2nd, 2024: Special Olympics Bharat on Saturday announced the Bocce and Bowling National Championships in New Delhi, set between September 2nd, 2024, and September 5th, 2024. This will be a pioneering event, the first of its kind to be held in India under the Special Olympics Bharat Organization with an addition of Bowling as a new sport for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
The tournament will play as a precursor event for the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bocce & Bowling Competition set to take place between 18th November and 23rd November in the capital city.
The National Championship is a five-day event which will witness around 200 athletes competing from various states to showcase their skills and talents and earn a chance to represent the Indian contingent in the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Bocce & Bowling Competition.

Dr. Mallika Nadda, President Special Olympics Bharat said, “Special Olympics Bharat continues to work towards the overall development of the athletes. We wish for our athletes to continue to earn their opportunity to represent the country as it allows them to be a part of an inclusive and equal society. The upcoming National tournament will see some of the best athletes from across India in Bocce and Bowling, and we are confident that their performances will truly surprise each and everyone.”
