The Ministry of Youth affairs & Sports and former minister Mr Kiren Rijiju, Govt. of India, on 2nd July 2021 had decided to grant recognition to WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as National Sports Federation (NSF) for promotion and development of the Kickboxing sport in India.
It is expected that with government recognition of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as NSF, the sport of kickboxing will develop at a faster pace in the country.
“This is great news for our sport in India and testament to the hard work of the President Santosh K. Agrawal and his team. It opens many doors for our athletes in India and I look forward to working with all our WAKO members in Asia and throughout the world, as we continue to develop and grow in structure and relevance”, said Mr Roy Baker, President – WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organization) in his greeting.
