IPL 2021 PBKS VS RCB, Harpreet Brar leaves RCB spell bound, spins victory Punjab’s way

Bringing in Harpreet Brar at the last minute was the best decision KL Rahul made. The spinner’s spell literally served victory on Punjab’s table. Punjab Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 34 runs.

Brar ‘s spell left RCB out of bounds as he dismissed RCB skipper Virat Kohli followed Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villers in Ahmedabad. Virat appreciated the young left-arm spinner with a pat on the back celebrating his game changing spell.

Brar picked up Kohli as his first wicket in the IPL. He canned Glen Maxwell in the next delivery. He got De Villers in his next over as the batsmen pushed the ball right in the hands of KL Rahul at short extra cover. He took 3 major wickets for 19 for Punjab, doing the majority work to seal the victory for Punjab.

RCB chose to bowl first, sending in Punjab to face the music at the pitch first. Punjab put up a competitive total of 179/5 in 20 overs. Punjab skipper KL Rahul did what he does best, knocked the bowlers left right and centre and stayed unbeaten at 91. Chris Gayle played a supporting knock by adding 46 runs off only 24 deliveries.  Later Brar came in continued the inflow of runs with a six off Harshal Patel, turning tables in Punjab’s favour.

Bangalore just could not keep up with the tight grip Punjab kept exerting on them, loosing wickets and eventually fell short through the cracks by 34 runs.
