Mumbai Indians got back to their old winning habit by defeating Rajasthan Royals straight by 7 wickets in Match 24 of the IPL Season 2021, at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Thursday. Mumbai chassed the challenging target of 172 runs very smoothly. They reached and over achieved the target in 18.3 overs with loss of only 3 wickets. Quinton de Kock was the man of the hour for MI. He smashed 70 runs off of 50 deliveries, a power package of six fours and 2 sixes.
Krunal Pandya also played an important role in achieving the total. He knocked 39 off of 26 balls. Kieron Pollard held his ground to support De Kock reach the total. Their brief cameo brought 16 runs off of 8 deliveries.
Chris Morris gave away 33 runs in 4 overs and successfully took 2 wickets. Earlier, Rajasthan started with their innings by hitting the pitch with an aim to strike a good score. They concluded at 171 for four in 20 overs. Rajasthan’s batting order displayed a good form. Sanju Samson smashed 42 off 27 balls. Jos Buttler (41) and Shivam Dube (35) brought some good knock to the table too. Despite the good batting order, Rajasthan Royals failed to outrun the Mumbai Indians bowlers. While Rahul Chahar came in hot and dismissed 2 wickts in 4 overs, Jasprith Bumrah and Trent Boult added to Rajasthan’s despair by dismissing one wicket each.
